Harrobia by Jade Gross is a red wine from the 2024 vintage, made by the multifaceted Jade in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, a municipality under the Rioja Qualified Designation of Origin.

This wine is made with the most widespread and typical variety of Rioja: Tempranillo.

The grapes come from the first plot acquired at the start of the project, known as ‘La Cantera’ (‘Harrobia’ in Basque), near the Sierra de Toloño in Labastida, Rioja Alavesa. The vines, planted in the bush-trained style, are 39 years old and grow on clay-limestone and sandstone soil at an altitude of 650 metres above sea level.

The grapes were harvested by hand on 29 September 2024, and the destemmed grapes (70%) together with whole bunches (30%) were fermented in an open stainless steel tank. The wine is aged for 13 months in French oak barrels.

A very exclusive red wine from La Rioja of which there are only 2258 bottles in existence. A real rarity!
