Corza Beoda by Jade Gross is a red wine from the 2024 vintage, made by the multifaceted Jade with the help of Abel Mendoza in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, a municipality under the Rioja Qualified Designation of Origin.
This year, Jade has changed the wine by adding another half of Garnacha to the most widespread and typical Rioja variety, Tempranillo.
The grapes come from the "La Cantera" plot located in Labastida, Rioja Alavesa. 37-year-old goblet-trained (bush vines) vineyard planted on clay-limestone soil at an altitude of 600 metres above sea level. The 32-year-old Garnacha vineyard is located in the municipality of San Vicente de Sonsierra on sandy soils.
The grapes were harvested by hand on 29 September 2024, 80% of bunches were destemmed and fermentation took place in small open tanks (20% stemmed), and the grapes were trodden by foot. The resulting wine was aged for 6 months on its lees in a stainless steel tank.
A very exclusive Rioja red wine of which there are only 727 individually numbered bottles. An absolute rarity for this purple-coloured wine!
