Hirsch Ried Lamm Kammern Grüner Veltliner 2017 comes from the renowned Ried Lamm 1ÖTW single vineyard in Kammern, Kamptal DAC, widely regarded as one of Austria's finest sites for Grüner Veltliner. Located on the southeastern foothills of Heiligenstein, the vineyard combines calcareous loam and loess soils producing wines of remarkable depth, elegance and longevity.

Farmed according to certified biodynamic principles, the grapes are harvested by hand in end of September and beginning of October. Whole-bunch pressing is followed by fermentation with indigenous yeasts, while the wine matures on its fine lees in a combination of stainless steel tanks and large oak casks until next summer. This careful approach preserves the purity of the vineyard while adding texture, complexity and exceptional ageing potential.

The 2017 vintage beautifully demonstrates the ageing potential of Grüner Veltliner from Kamptal. Aromas of ripe stone fruit, quince, dried flowers, white pepper and subtle smoky mineral notes lead to a palate that is broad, silky and beautifully balanced. Its vibrant acidity, refined structure and exceptionally long finish make it an outstanding gastronomic white wine and an excellent example of Austria's world-class age-worthy whites.
