Hirsch Ried Gaisberg Zöbing Riesling 2016 comes from the renowned Ried Gaisberg 1ÖTW single vineyard in Zöbing, Kamptal DAC, one of Austria's benchmark sites for Riesling. The southwest-facing vineyard features weathered mica schist, siliceous sandy soils and diverse rock outcrops, with small deposits of loess, creating wines of remarkable precision, minerality and outstanding ageing potential

The vineyard is farmed according to certified biodynamic principles. Grapes are harvested by hand at the end of October, gently whole-bunch pressed and fermented with indigenous yeasts before ageing on the fine lees in a combination of stainless steel tanks and large oak casks until the next spring. This careful approach preserves the vineyard's purity while adding texture and complexity.

The 2016 vintage is beautifully balanced and complex, offering aromas of meadow flowers, apricot, citrus and subtle herbal notes. The palate is vibrant, precise and intensely mineral, supported by refreshing acidity and a long, dry finish that promises excellent ageing potential.
