This wine is a special collaboration between Eloi Cedó, a native of Mallorca and a winemaker renowned for the exquisite wines produced as part of his Sistema Vinari project, and Puro Rofe from Lanzarote (run by Rayco Fernandez).
As the label states, this is a wine made ‘on a whim’ – Listán Negro and Malvasía Volcánica grapes produce this light and extremely fresh red. A true ‘summer red’!
Harvested on 20 July, the two varieties are blended in equal proportions during fermentation, and some of the Listán Negro grapes are added as whole bunches. The wine is aged for 6 months in large 500-litre barrels.
The wine is neither filtered nor clarified, and no sulphites are added.
Our impressions: the wine transports you to the vineyards surrounded by these volcanic sands, with notes of smoke, sulphur and plenty of wild red fruit (such as raspberries and cherries), alongside vegetal notes. On the palate, it is very fresh with very little tannic sensation; it almost resembles a rosé, light-bodied with a finish of the same berries, along with herbaceous notes and a distinct saltiness.
A wine true to its origins! Ready to enjoy now or to be kept in the cellar for a while.
