Singularis is a unique wine in the sense that it will not be produced again... Carlos Lozano, the winemaker of Llanos Negros de Fuencaliente, La Palma, presents the third edition of a singular wine: albillo criollo from a single plot made as an orange wine, i.e. the grapes fermented with their skins for 7 months. All production and ageing was carried out in stainless steel tanks.
The Albillo Criollo variety, so rare nowadays, is a cross between Verdelho (better known as Verdelho Branco in Portugal and specifically Madeira) and Listán Blanco from Canary Islands (which is the synonym of the Andalusian Palomino fino).
