Jabalina is a rosé wine from the vintage 2024 made by multifaceted Jade Gross with the help of the famous Riojan winemaker Abel Mendoza, in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, a township adhered to the Rioja Denominacion de Origen Calificada.
This wine is made with the most widespread and typical variety of Rioja: tempranillo, although for the first time 20% of Viura has also been added and so it would be fair to call it a clarete (a blend of red and white grapes).
The grapes come from the "La Cantera" plot located in Labastida, Rioja Alavesa. 37-year-old goblet-trained (bush vines) vineyard planted on clay-limestone soil at an altitude of 600 metres above sea level.
The grapes were harvested by hand on 19 September 2024 and the must was fermented in a stainless steel tank and the wine was aged for 6 months on its lees.
A very exclusive Rioja rosé wine of which there are only 1280 individually numbered bottles. An absolute rarity!
