Moon Rocket by Jade Gross, a red wine of the 2023 vintage, made by the multifaceted Jade with the help of Abel Mendoza in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, a municipality attached to the Denominación de Origen Calificada Rioja.
This wine is made from a blend of the typical Rioja varieties: 80% Tempranillo and 20% Garnacha.
The vineyards are more than 35 years old and are distributed between Labastida, Cordovin and San Vicente de la Sonsierra.
The grapes were harvested by hand on 7 October 2023 and after destemming, the must was fermented in open tanks and subsequently aged in French oak barrels for 12 months.
This is the first edition of Moon Rocket Tinto (along with already 2 vintages of Moon Rocket White) and only 60 individually numbered Magnum bottles (1500 ml) have been bottled. The label, as usual for all the wines, is created by the San Sebastian illustrator Javier Aramburu and inspired by the adventures of Tintin and his trip to the moon. The rocket in the shape of the magnum bottle and Jade herself in a space suit are not to be missed, and the label deserves to be preserved as a small work of art!
