Suertes del Marques La Floridita Bonus Track 2020

Suertes del Marqués is a family winery in Valle de La Orotava, Tenerife, led by winemaker Jonatan García, one of the key figures behind the revival of the island's indigenous grape varieties and old vineyards. His approach focuses on expressing the volcanic, Atlantic and mineral character of each vineyard through careful viticulture and minimal-intervention winemaking.

La Floridita Bonus Track 2020 comes from over 100-year-old ungrafted Listán Negro vines, organically farmed in Valle de La Orotava, Tenerife, at 350–450 metres above sea level, with a small proportion of Listán Blanco. The wine clearly reflects the volcanic and Atlantic character of the island.

The grapes were fermented in concrete tanks with four days’ skin contact, and fermentation was completed in two used 500-litre barrels, where the wine remained for five months. The result is a light, fresh red, which resembles an intense rosé more than a red wine, with a fine texture, red and wild fruit, notes of cranberry and aromatic herbs, a hint of sulphur, accompanied by a pronounced mineral and salty sensation.
