Michael Wenzel Wild + Free Voodoo Child Pinot Gris 2022

Michael Wenzel, famous for his Furmint whites or his delicate Pinot Noir or Blaufränkisch reds, surprises with this orange wine carefully made from Pinot Gris. Grown on gravelly soils, when ripe this variety has a darker skin colour than the white variant, but the pinkish hue does not tinge like its red cousin.

The Wild + Free line is the maximum expression of fruit and terroir and the minimum of man. Fermented with skins and wild yeasts, with a short ageing on lees, the wine is appetising for its colour, freshness (it is only 11º!) and very little tannin. Being "natural wine" it did not undergo any filtration or stabilisation processes therefore there are some natural sediments in the bottle.

With it's herbaceous notes, red fruits or even pomegranate, it is a perfect companion for an autumn evening with an assortment of tapas.
