4 Kilos Descornat 2024 is a 100% Manto Negro red wine from VT Mallorca, sourced from the historic Pla de Buc vineyard in Santa Maria del Camí. The project brings together five Mallorcan wineries to create individual interpretations of the same vineyard and highlight this traditional viticultural landscape. The approximately 30-year-old bush vines are planted on deep gravel and clay soils.
The 4 Kilos interpretation, led by Cesc Grimalt, focuses on preserving freshness and varietal character. The wine is aged for 12 months in 500-litre French oak barrels and has a moderate 13% alcohol level, prioritising balance and elegance over concentration. Production is limited to just 500 bottles.
The wine shows crushed stone, strawberry, cherry and red-fruit aromas, complemented by citrus, cedar, cinnamon, cassis and cocoa. Fresh, silky and taut on the palate, it combines fine tannins with a distinctive mineral character and a long, precise finish.
A highly limited Manto Negro that reveals a fresher, more mineral and elegant side of Mallorca, particularly compelling for curious wine lovers.
