Manuel Cantalapiedra Obertura + Campanella 2023

Manuel Cantalapiedra has launched his personal project under the same name to distinguish it from the family winery, Cantalapiedra Viticultores.

This is a special pack of two bottles (one of each label):

- White - Obertura 2023 - Verdejo from very old vines in La Seca, artisan production with 12 months' ageing in used barrels and subsequent refinement in steel tanks, with minimal sulphur addition for preservation (15 mg/l). Vibrant acidity and marked austerity; in blind tasting it is more reminiscent of Jura than Verdejo. Enjoyable now, with great potential for evolution in the bottle.

- Red - Campanella 2023 - Garnacha/Grenache (95%) with a touch of Cariñena/Carignan (5%), grown in Villafranca del Duero (Toro), young vines (5 years old) and its first vintage of only 800 bottles! Harvested at the end of October, with optimal ripeness but unusually high acidity. Whole bunch fermentation, aged for 18 months in a used 600-litre French oak barrel. Bottled in April 2025. A deep and expressive wine, where ripe black fruit intertwines with herbal and mentholated notes. Powerful yet elegant on the palate, it flows with juicy acidity and soft tannins, with a long and balanced finish. A red wine that, in terms of style and harmony, is more reminiscent of the best wines of the southern Rhône than those of its true origin.
