Eulogio Pomares La Vie en Rose 2021

La Vie en Rose is the interpretation of a rosé wine by Eulogio Pomares from Rías Baixes in Galicia. It is made as the so-called "clarete", which is a blend of white grapes (albariño) and red grapes (caiño tinto) that gives this salmon pink colour. The grapes are grown together in the same vineyard, with poor soils of granite sand very close to the Atlantic Ocean. The destemmed grapes are slowly pressed and the caiño skins provide colour to the must, which is then fermented in 500-litre French oak cask. The wine is aged for 12 months in the barrel. There are only 572 bottles of this special wine produced for the first time in the 2021 vintage. Great wine to enjoy with all kinds of gastronomy or to keep longer in the cellar!
