Claus Preisinger has been known for his natural winemaking for a number of years. Located in the village of Gols, in the Burgenland region, he works about 20 hectares under biodynamic concepts and grows different local grape varieties.
This sparkling rosé wine Ordinaire is made with 2 varieties, half of Welschriesling (grape quite widespread in Central Europe and Italy where it is also known as Riesling Italico) along with another half of Spätburgunder or Pinot Noir as they call it in Austria and Germany. The ancestral method for making sparkling wines is the oldest of this type of wine, the must undergoes only one alcoholic fermentation, i.e. the process begins in some type of tank (stainless steel) and ends in the bottle. The bubble we find in the wine is soft and perhaps less abundant compared to traditional method sparkling wines (such as cava or champagne), but that alone makes the ancestral wines super easy to drink!
The emoji of the bottle cap, although it is the symbol of the winery, invites us to open the bottle and enjoy its bubbles with light meals or simply on its own!
