Álvaro Loza Con.tacto Ánfora 2024

Álvaro Loza, born in La Rioja but having travelled all over the world, returned to his home region to launch his personal project in 2019.

Con.tacto is the brand name for its white wines, which are smooth, lively and true to their origins.

This Ánfora is made from Viura grapes grown on a plot planted 12 years ago in the neighbourhood of Baños de Ebro close to the river at over 400 meters, on sandy loam soil.

The grapes are harvested by hand, destemmed and left to macerate for around 24 hours; after pressing, the must ferments in tanks. The resulting wine matures on its lees in a 1,000-litre amphora, whilst another portion remains in a stainless steel tank. Twelve months later, the wine is bottled with a minimal dose of sulphur dioxide for preservation.
