Miguel Morales decided to start marketing his wines in 2017, and this dry white wine of the Diego variety is his second vintage. Vijariego, or Diego, as the Conejeros (the inhabitants of Lanzarote) call it, is a somewhat forgotten variety, left in the shadow of the famous volcanic malvasia, but with great potential.
The vineyard of 1.45 hectares, located in the Timanfaya National Park, with an average age of 60 years, cultivated in the typical holes in the volcanic sand or rofe, at 250 m above sea level. Some vines are more than 100 years old. Harvest by hand (impossible to do otherwise), maceration with skins for 12 hours, manual pressing in a press, spontaneous fermentation, and subsequent aging for 9 months on the lees in stainless steel tanks.
Very small production of only 500 bottles of the 2020 vintage due to low rainfall on the island. Tisalaya Diego is a wine with potential for good evolution in the bottle and is already showing complex notes.
