The Furmint variety, well known in its country of origin (Hungary), but a rarity in Austria with only 10 hectares cultivated. Michael Wenzel is the most renowned winemaker for his dry white wines made from this grape.

This is one of the very limited production parcel wines, with a production of only 800 bottles. The grapes come from a single vineyard, called Vogelsang (the Bird’s Song), characterized by its high content of blue quartz reflected in the image on the label.

The plot is located on hills with varied soils of slate, gneiss and that precious blue quartz, age of the vines 28 years.

Winemaking notes: whole cluster pressing, fermentation in old barrels and subsequent aging for 10 months on the lees in the same barrels. Very little sulfur added (29 mg/l).
