The Furmint variety, well known in its country of origin (Hungary), but a rarity in Austria with only 10 hectares cultivated. Michael Wenzel is the most renowned winemaker for his dry white wines made from this grape.

The “top” wine of the winery with its very limited production of only 900 bottles. The grapes come from a single vineyard, called Garten Eden (the Garden of Eden), characterized by its high red quartz content reflected on the label, plus the peculiarity that the vines are derived from a mass selection of “old furmint”, planted in 2007, which gives looser clusters and smaller grapes compared to current plantings.

Winemaking notes: Harvest at the end of September, maceration for 5 hours. After gentle pressing, natural fermentation takes place in 500-liter French barrels of second use and in sandstone amphorae. The wine was left on lees until bottling in July 2019. Only 35 mg of SO2.
