This Marko is special, called Loretxoa (which means “flower” in Basque) because of its aging under flor veil in fino de Jerez butts.
Oxer has composed this wine from 3 “exotic” varieties grown in the village of Kortezubi near the coast of Biscay:
50% Hondarribi Zuri Zerratia (petit courbu), 35% Hondarribi Zuri (gros courbu) and 15% Izkiriota Txikia (petit manseng).
After fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine is transferred to fino butts for a short aging period of a few months under a veil of flor, which gives it an additional salinity and a peculiar character.
It is a wine made with minimal intervention, without filtering or fining, and has great cellaring potential.
Produced 2300 bottles.
